You Take the Cake!
Our third annual 'You Take the Cake' Cake Auction was a huge success! We raised over $900 for our summer reading book promotion and birthday book fund. We are so grateful for the generosity of our parents, grandparents, staff, and community members that helped make this year a success. Equally impressive were the talented cake bakers and decorators that once again stunned us all with their creativity and imagination. Well done Washington Elementary!

Coming Soon: New Birthday Book List Titles
WE Library's birthday book program is a special way to celebrate your student's birthday by purchasing a book for the library in their honor. Here's how it works: A book is purchased in honor of your student and donated to the WE Library. We place a book plate inside the front cover of the book with the year and your student's name in honor of their special day. Then, your student is the first to check out the new title! We want everyone to participate should they choose to. If you need financial assistance, please contact Megan Casey, teacher librarian, for help purchasing a book for your special student.

WE Library is Awarded Funding for a Few New Friends!
Great News! WE Library was awarded a DonorsChoose grant to purchase new robots for our makerspace rotations. We will soon make the library home to a few new friends: Dot and Dash and BB8! Also joining our centers will be a new remote control car for building magna tiles and a brand new set of magna tiles. Lastly, thanks to the grant from DonorsChoose, the library will purchase a new set of LittleBits for students to build on what they've already learned. We can't wait to get started!
